Santalahti is a unique five-stars camping in southern Finland.

You can pitch a tent on equal lawn in the pine’s shade. There is a convenient parking with the electric socket for caravans and autohouses on the asphalted platform or on a grass. The part of parking places for autohouses is equipped with a cable television connection.

There you will find all kinds of service. The beach is located only in some tens meters.

If you are going camping in the fall, this is great period for photography. Nature transformation can be portrayed with the help of the camera which is able to show all its beauty with yellow, brown, red and orange colors. When else will you have such a strong desire to get away to the desert? Cold winter is just about the time for it! There is some unique beauty about this place that you will be amazed to see it this way. Deserts are exotic places. Being visually stunning when you observe its red rock canyons, and high sandstone walls, while the trees in the desert are so little and they are shaped by windy weather. The biggest challenge of camping in the desert is certainly, sun. Summer-shading camping gear is a must. There must be a hat with shades, sunglasses to protect yourself. Include the lip balm in your gear, the one with SPF protection is preferable. Cover your neck as well. Though it seems alluring to be shirtless in a place like that but you will have to cover yourself with sunscreen from time to time. It is better to enjoy the surrounding being clothed. As you are camping near the sea and have a plenty of seafood products, cook Clambake, which was traditionally prepared in New England. This is the meal which was served on some important occasions so the preparation of this dish is an event in itself.  So this way you can arrange a camping feast and cook the seafood in this original way.

It is perfect for cooking on the beach, but some like it so much that arrange it at home. Clambake is about much seafood, and many cold beverages. What seafood can be the ingredients of the dish? These are potatoes, crabs, mussels, lobster, sausage, onions, ears of corn. Everything should be clean and fresh.  The corn can be cleaned by removing husk and silk. Make sure that you have a big piece of canvas tarp as you start to prepare the meal. You will need it to cover your dish. As you are in the beach you can soak the canvas in salty seawater.

Fresh seaweed is an important component of the meal. It is very important as you steam the clambake. Rockweed is the best for it, though there are other kinds of seaweed which perfectly work in the process of preparation. As you gathered the seaweed store it in the fresh sea water to have this ingredient fresh for the nice taste of the meal.  Gather round stones too. They should be of medium size.  Wet beach stones should be avoided as you gather the stones as they can explode after heating in the fire. You can bring stones from other place for it. From year to year Finland takes one of the leading positions for ecology worldwide; therefore the nature will certainly please you with its virgin beauty. The eco-camping is located on 5 islands. Islands are situated in Saimaa system of lakes, in 1 km from the Saimaa channel. All territory is under the protection of UNESCO.

The big island with the area of about 10 hectares is called Lamposaari (translates as “a warm island”). The stone ridge with huge pines passes across island center. There are some peninsulas.
